So this week is the final week of a fun-filled month of music! Each day since Spring Break, I have had classes vote to figure out who our "Mystery Staff Member" is for the day. I posted an envelope outside of my door (so I don't have a continuous stream of interruptions -- I was thinking ahead on that one!), and I put a new "Mystery Person" and their clues in the boxes of each teacher. It has been so awesome! All of my students have music on the brain!
I also took pictures of a few classes holding "THANK YOU" signs, with the headphones from our Listening Center to make it interesting, and had the pictures developed with a border and text that says: Thank you for supporting music in our schools! I'll be sending those out to my principal, administrators, and state reps. with some really great writing (what I called our MIOSM Statements) from 4th and 5th graders. A few really tapped into their young souls and I LOVED IT!!!
I love my school and I'm so happy to be a part of something so creative. Life is good.
